The Buccaneers have a chance to roll the dice and take another gamble on a guy who is very highly rated to begin day two of the NFL draft.
Randy Gregory was supposed to be a top ten draft pick and then some rumors crept out about his off-field problems (anxiety, marijuana were speculated) and then on-field knocks came out a day later.
Still, the Bucs gambled on one perceived “character” risk; and it will pay off. If they could nab Gregory – considered by many analysts the greatest prospect left on the board – they have a shot at making this one of the greatest drafts they’ve ever had from the get go. They need a defensive end. He’s the best edge rusher in the draft many said. I think they should do it.
The other guy I wouldn’t mind seeing them pick up is D.J. Humphries from Florida to play left tackle and guard the blindside of Jameis Winston. Jake Fisher is there too but I lean Humphries. To land either of these players with the round two selection (pick two, round two) would be hitting a home run with the first two picks.
