Lovie Smith has his first win at The New Sombrero in Tampa. The day belonged to Doug Martin (24 carries, 123 yards, 2 TD’s, 3 receptions, 35 yards, 1 receiving touchdown). He had a couple runs when the Buccaneers were behind that absolutely swung the game. When the Bucs fell behind 24-20, only salvaged a field-goal and Solomon Wilcots was remarking on ‘what a fun game we had here’, the Buccaneers answered with a defensive touchdown from Jacquies Smith to pull ahead.
Jameis Winston had a nice, error free game. He went 12 for 19 for 209 yards and a touchdown. He actually didn’t turn it over today. Thought he made about three to four really good big time throws. Granted, it was the Jaguars but he got the win.
Would have liked to see Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson involved in the game more; and too many plays were negated by penalties on the offensive lineman. They also gave up 31 points and over 300 yards to Blake Bortles. It was a surprising 38-31 ballgame. Charles Sims was pretty awesome in a spelled role, filling in for Doug Martin here and there.
At the end of the day, the Buccaneers are 2-3. They don’t play next week which kind of sucks.
